Appointments

General Conditions of Recruitments:

  • Classifications of Posts
    Posts under the board shall for purposes of appointment control & discipline, etc be classified in Classes A, B, C and according to the pay scales as per classification of posts under the state government in force from time to time.
  • Age
    Age limits for the candidates for direct recruitment to different classes of posts in the service shall be prescribed for recruitment to posts under the state government.
  • Qualifications
    The minimum educational qualifications, preferential qualification & experience prescribed for the various posts to be filled in by direct recruitment shall be as in Appendix 'B'.
  • Nationality, Character, Physical Fitness, Marital Status, Reservation
    Rules regarding Nationality, Character, Physical Fitness, Marital Status & Reservation for recruitment to different class of posts as applicable for recruitment to posts under the state government shall apply to recruitment under the board.

Recruitment & Appointment

  • Appointing Authority
    The Authority or the officers shown in column 1 of the table below shall be the appointing authority in respect of the posts shown in column 2 of the table

  • Source of Recruitment

1. Provided that the posts of Director & Additional Director (Administration) shall be filled by deputation. NOTE:-The Director shall be an Officer in the senior scale of the I.A.S. while the Additional Director (Administration) shall be an officer in the selection grade of the State Civil Service( Executive Branch).

  • (A.) All the posts in class A except the post of Director & Additional Director (Administration) shall be filled by promotion.
  • (B.) 50 percent posts in class 'B' shall be filled by promotion & 50 percent by direct recruitment: Provided that with respect to the cadre of Assistant Engineer 8.33 percent posts out of promotion Quota shall be filled from amongst substantively appointed junior engineers who possess Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognized institution or are Associate Members of Institution Of Engineers (India)(Subs by Noti. No. 68/XII-5-99-600(287)-81 T.C. 1, Dt. 11.01.1999 (w.e.f. 15.01.1999)
  • (C.) 85 percent posts in lowest grade in Class C shall be filled by direct recruitment & 15 percent by promotion from Class D.
  • (D.) All the posts in the scale of pay above the lowest grade in Class C shall be filled by promotion.
  • (E.) All the posts in class D shall be filled by direct recruitment.

3. Any post required to be filled by direct recruitment or promotion may in the discretion of the board, be filled by taking person on deputation.

4. Promotion shall be confined to the posts within the same group & shall be subject to the conditions eligible for promotion to different posts.
